From Garden Memories to Midday Favorites: Lunch at Yellow Bell Café

rural garden in morning light

When I was a kid, lunch with my grandmother was something special.

She loved to garden and I’d often find myself outside, digging through rows of vegetables looking for an afternoon snack. Cucumbers still cool from the dirt, crisp radishes with a little bite, carrots I’d rinse under the hose, and bell peppers so sweet they hardly needed anything else. Her lunches were simple but perfect — fresh greens tossed with sour cream and green onions straight from the garden, and my favorite; cucumber and mayo sandwiches on her homemade sourdough bread. The smell of the warm bread, the crunch of those garden cucumbers — it’s the kind of memory that sticks with you long after childhood fades.

That same spirit is what we’ve brought to our new lunch menu at Yellow Bell Café. Fresh ingredients, made with care, and the kind of simple comfort that makes you want to slow down, even if just for a few minutes.

Fresh, Fast, and Full of Flavor

Start with our Classic Reuben, piled high with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing on grilled rye. Or try the YBC-BLT, a fresh twist on a favorite, stacked with bacon, arugula, tomato, and avocado aioli on ciabatta — add a fried egg if you’re feeling bold.

If you’re craving something heartier, the Steak Bomb is pure comfort: tender grilled steak sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, and melted cheddar with Dijon aioli on warm ciabatta. Vegetarians will love Granny’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese, with tangy apple slices, red onion jam, and gooey cheddar and Swiss. And for something lighter, our Spinach Cobb and Kale Waldorf salads are full meals in their own right — bright, crisp, and satisfying.

Your Lunch, Your Way

Every dish is served with your choice of sides — French fries, kale salad, fresh fruit, or soup of the day — and everything on the menu is available to go or on DoorDash.

Short on time? Just let your server know, and we guarantee to get you in and out in 30 minutes. Because good food shouldn’t mean running late.

So Much More than Breakfast

We’ve built Yellow Bell on the idea that food should feel like home — whether that’s pancakes at sunrise or a Reuben at noon. Come see why lunch at Yellow Bell Café is quickly becoming Keene’s favorite midday stop.
